Hi, I’m Jérôme Masson.

I’ve been living in Melbourne since 2011, raising my daughter and building a career in hospitality. Life has taken me across different countries, cultures, and industries, teaching me that the world is my oyster and that home is wherever I feel connected to the people around me. Still, I find my greatest sense of peace surrounded by nature.

Born in the south of France into a multicultural family, my roots stretch across England, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, and New Zealand. With almost each generation of my family born on a different continent, I grew up with a naturally international outlook and an appreciation for people from all walks of life.

My hospitality journey began in 1994 as an apprentice chef. Since then, I’ve worked across restaurants, five-star hotels, cruise ships, yachts, airlines, private jet catering, and corporate hospitality in Melbourne. 

In 2020, I decided to create something of my own and launched Erica Escape, a mountain retreat designed to help guests slow down, recharge, and reconnect with nature.

Five years on, Erica Escape has become a rewarding journey built around memorable stays, wonderful guests, and five-star reviews.

Based in Melbourne, still open to new professional opportunities where I can bring together my hospitality expertise, international perspective, entrepreneurial spirit, and love of connecting with people.

I believe the best experiences are built on genuine connection, creativity, and a shared sense of purpose.
