A Perfect 24 Hours in Erica
Check-in at Erica Escape is usually from 2 pm. If you arrive earlier, my top recommendation is to stop at Erica Café and Bar. It’s a great place to start your stay with a relaxed meal, try the pumpkin salad paired with a nice glass of Chardonnay. To finish, you can enjoy their famous sponge cake or grab a brownie to take away and enjoy later on the deck at Erica Escape. The property is self-contained, with coffee and tea facilities available, so you can settle in and unwind from 2 pm onwards.
From around 3 pm to 5 pm, a great way to spend the afternoon is to explore the Erica Rail Trail, a scenic walk that follows the old railway line and offers a glimpse into the history of the region, extending all the way toward Walhalla. A comfortable option is a 30–45 minute walk before turning back to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the town.
After 5 pm, you can take a short drive to Walhalla and book a table at the Walhalla Pub. You’ll find a warm and friendly welcome, with consistent service, a relaxed atmosphere, and good pub meals prepared by the local team.
After dinner, head back to Erica. If the pub is still open, you can stop in for a final drink and maybe a game of pool. On weekends, there may also be live music depending on the schedule.
The next morning, for a simple and easy breakfast before checkout, the Erica General Store (open from 8 am) is the best option—highly recommended is the egg and bacon roll along with a coffee.
If you are staying a second night, another good option for dinner is Erica Café and Bar, depending on their opening hours.
